Centre for Graphic Communication
The Centre for Graphic Communication is another specialist campus at SBCS. The focus here is on Art & Design programmes, though qualifications in Business Management & Administration are also administered. These qualifications are awarded by some of the UK's leading institutions in Education, namely the Association of Business Executives (ABE), Edexcel, University of Sunderland and Heriot-Watt University.
Our internationally recognized Graphic Design programmes aim to prepare students for exciting careers in the competitive world of Graphics in such areas as Graphic Design, Creative Design, Website Design, Advertising and Marketing.
As students journey with us through their studies, they will benefit from instruction and guidance by qualified, practicing professionals (artists, designers, illustrators, management consultants), and be immersed in an environment designed and tailored to encourage the exchange of ideas and unleash their creativity.
Edexcel was the first of the three unitary awarding bodies to be established to offer both academic and vocational qualifications, follows the Stafford Review of exam standards in 1995. It was formed in 1996 by the merger of the Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC), the country’s leading provider of vocational qualifications, and the University of London Examinations & Assessment Council (ULEAC), one of the major exam boards for GCSEs and A Levels.
Edexcel operates in over 110 countries, offering the widest range of academic and vocational qualifications, with more than two million people studying for qualifications in over 7000 centers annually. Edexcel is the largest International awarding body approved by the UK government. These qualifications are becoming ever more important in today's fast-moving world. Employers are recruiting staff with additional skills who can contribute to the workplace in a meaningful way. An Edexcel qualification provides that stepping stone to the workplace.
The Business & Technology Education Council (BTEC) suite of vocational qualifications are recognised by employers and higher education institutions worldwide. They have been developed to provide the required knowledge, understanding and skills, in an industry-focused context, to ensure progress into or within employment and/or the option to continue study in the vocational area.
BTEC Higher National Diplomas are becoming ever more important in today’s fast-moving world. Students can no longer expect to pass examinations and walk straight into a job. Employers are looking for people with additional skills who can contribute to the workplace in a meaningful way.
