Student Services Unit Embarks on a Book Collection Drive

Published: 12:00 AM on May 18, 2011

SBCS fully supports the sentiment expressed in the Margaret Fuller quote,  “Today a reader, tomorrow a leader” and as such, the Student Services Department of SBCS has embarked on an initiative to help “promote reading among our [nation’s] primary school students”. To this end, a book collection drive has been established to allow current SBCS students and alumni to make donations of new or used children’s books; new colouring books, crayons or coloured pencils.

The collection period runs from Saturday, March 12, through Saturday, July 30, 2011 and donations can be made to the Student Services Department during normal opening hours. SBCS management has pledged to match all donations in value.

All items will then be donated to a primary school in the vicinity of each of the campuses. – Suggestions are welcome.
