Advanced Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations

The Advanced Certificate will provide students with an understanding of supply market analysis and its importance to the procurement process. It introduces them to strategic procurement and supply issues, showing the importance of the alignment of procurement and supply strategy to overall corporate objectives, and their impact on organisational success.
Students will develop their understanding of issues surrounding the preparation and management of contracts, and the implications of these for the organisation. This level will also expand their understanding of the logistical issues that organisations are faced with when trading internationally and an introduction to specialist techniques that organisations purchasing internationally will need to employ. Lastly students will increase their understanding of the purpose of, and techniques used in, evaluating the contribution of the procurement and supply function to the performance of the organisation.
- 18 years or older and four (4) O' Level passes inclusive of English or
- CIPS Certificate in Purchasing and Supply or
- CIPS Certificate in Procurement and Supply Operations
The learner will develop the knowledge to understand and apply demand management through manual or I.T. based systems, carry out stock valuation and ordering, arrange supply logistics and the necessary paperwork, and implement new contracts, including queries on performance, and financial management and contract review.
Duration Of Programme
Each level of the CIPS programme can be completed in one year.
Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses (GATE)
This programme is GATE approved. Nationals of Trinidad and Tobago can apply for Government Assistance through the GATE Programme. Government subsidizes the full cost of tuition fees. Students wanting to subscribe for funding must fulfill the entry requirements of the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Skills and Training (MTEST).
Each level within the CIPS qualifications (Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Professional Diploma) is recognised by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Skills and Training (MTEST) as five (5) separate programmes. Each programme is approved for GATE funding for a maximum of one (1) year.
Students are not entitled to any additional GATE funding to repeat papers within CIPS programmes. Exemptions would be considered on an individual basis by the Ministry of Tertiary Education, Skills and Training (MTEST).

This programme is taught using a blended approach of practical industry relevant experiences and academics.
Students have to successfully complete five (5) units to complete the Certificate in Procurement and Supply.
The course is offered in the following semesters on Saturdays:
- January to May
- June to November
Saturday classes are available at the Champs Fleurs Campus.
