The Level 6 Graduate Diploma in Purchasing and Supply consists of three compulsory units.One of these,Supply ChainManagement in Practice,is an integrative unit which is designed to draw together the knowledge and understanding achieved in the other four units and to demonstrate how these units combine and integrate in a working environment.The integrative unit should be taken after the compulsory units have been completed. Additionally you must choose two optional units froma choice of five:

  • LegalAspects in Purchasing and Supply
  • Advanced Project Management
  • Finance for Purchasers *
  • Strategic Public Sector Programme Management *

Learning Outcomes

CIPS provides a programme of continuous improvement in professional standards and raises awareness of the contribution that purchasing and supply makes to corporate, national and international prosperity. On completion of this programme you can pursue a profession in the field of purchasing, procurement or supply chain management.

Government Assistance for Tuition Expenses (GATE)

This programme is GATE approved. Nationals of Trinidad and Tobago can apply for Government Assistance through the GATE Programme. Government subsidizes the full cost of tuition fees. Students wanting to subscribe for funding must fulfill the entry requirements of the Ministry of Science Technology and Tertiary Education (MSTTE).

Each level within the CIPS qualifications (Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Foundation Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Graduate Diploma)  is recognized by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education (MSTTE) as five (5) separate programmes. Each programme is approved for GATE funding for a maximum of one (1) year.

Repeat Policy
Students are not entitled to any additional GATE funding to repeat papers within CIPS programmes. Exemptions would be considered on an individual basis by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Tertiary Education (MSTTE).

Registration Information

New Students

Will be required to bring originals as well as copies of their CXC/GCE/CAPE certificates.

Continuing Students

Must show proof of attempting the previous papers that were funded by GATE. They must also show proof of having registered with the Professional Body (CIPS).

Rules of Progression

Upon successful completion of the Graduate level students can commence the final year of the BA (Hons) Business Management from the University of Sunderland.

Duration Of Programme

It is structured as a Certificate, Advanced Certificate, Foundation Diploma, Advanced Diploma and Graduate Diploma. Please note students who have successfully completed the Certificate & Advanced Certificate would gain direct entry to the Advance Diploma Level. The programme can be completed in three to four years.

Registration Deadline

SBCS' Registration Deadline is usually two weeks before the start of the upcoming semester. Students will also be required to register with the respective foreign bodies.  Course Administration will advise as to all deadline dates for foreign fee payments.

Courses
