OSHA - General Industry Training

The course teaches participants the OSHA General Industry Standards.  Those persons who have safety responsibilities will benefit from this comprehensive course, as it specifically applies to TT OSH Act policies, standards and procedures for general safety and health. It addresses the relevance of OSHA in a Trinidad and Tobago context, the roles and responsibilities of all levels of personnel and it discusses proprietary and consensus standards while giving an understanding of these standards as well as relevant Trinidad and Tobago standards. Other areas covered include whistle blower protection, the requirements of the standard and being able to identify hazards, avoidance, and control.

  • Welding, Cutting, and Brazing

Session 3

  • Electrical & Safety-Related Work Practice
  • Flammable and Combustible Liquids
  • Hazard Communication

Session 4

  • Introduction to Industrial Hygiene / Blood borne Pathogens
  • Safety and Health Programs
  • Permit-Required Confined Spaces

Session 5

  • Lockout / Tag out
  • PPE
  • Materials Handling
  • Program Review & Assessment

 

Registration Information

  • Registration for all Corporate Training courses can be done at the Champs Fleurs, Port-of-Spain, Trincity or San Fernando Campus.
  • Payment of fees can be made by linx, credit card or cheque. SBCS is now CASH FREE!
  • An administration fee of $100.00 is payable on all registrations.
  • A late fee of $20 will apply on registrations within 1 week of commencement of class.
  • A Certificate of participation is awarded to each participant upon satisfying 80% attendance of classes and/or any exam or course-work assigned by lecturer.
