MSc. Educational Leadership

This programme is designed to offer teachers, lecturers and educational managers in schools and colleges a unique opportunity to reflect upon their own practice and to enhance their leadership and management knowledge.

Entry Requirements

A minimum of 3 years teaching/Lecturing experience

OR A first degree from a recognised university or its equivalent

OR UK qualified teacher status or its equivalent professional status overseas, in an educational organisation

Programme Content

The degree has a modular format.  For award of the MSc, students are required to complete three out of five 'content' modules, a Research Module and a 15,000 - 20,000 word dissertation.  Assessment of each 'content' module is by a 4,000 - 5,000 word written assignments.

Content modules are to be selected from:

• Educational Leadership and Strategic Management
• Managing Finance and External Relations in Educational Institutions
• Educational policy
• Managing the Curriculum
• Human Resource Management in Education
• Educational Policy

Plus a Research Module

• Research Methods

Dissertation

This comprises an extended study culminating in a written dissertation of 15,000 to 20,000 words.

An application fee of TT$500.00 (Non refundable) is attached to all applications.
