Bought a digital camera but need a few tips on how to use it? Improve your photography and learn about camera controls, camera menus, mega pixels, image enhancement, exposure and focus control at the same time.

This is an introductory course on broadcast news reporting. The focus is on giving students an insight into the differences between broadcast and print news, while teaching them to write for the broadcast media. Since this is a short course, we will cover a lot in little time. To get the most out of this course, students must read additional material and participate in class discussions.

This course is designed to introduce learners to the fundamental skills of the modern jounalist. Participants will discuss the nature of journalistic responsibility and objectivity, and will develop their skills in writing and research for print and other media. The course will increase participants' understanding of the essential components of a news presentation.

Pre-requisite: 3 Sessions dedicated to learning and navigating the Logic software. To be scheduled all in one week prior to the start of the course.

Basic Audio Elements is an introductory programme which covers the basics of a recording studio. This Certificate programme is designed to aid the development of students' problem solving and critical thinking skills, so that they will be able to effectively function in the field of sound engineering within an ever-changing technological environment.

This class is geared for those just starting out in digital video and would like to learn the basic concepts of Adobe After Effects.

This programme is designed to teach the participants the fundamentals of video editing skills. By the end of this course all participants will be able to perform basic edits for interviews, television commercials and news/narrative pieces. Premiere Pro CS3 will be edit platform in use, however the principles taught will be applicable to any other professional non-linear edit platform.

UOG Brief History - The university traces its roots to 1890, when Britain's second polytechnic was opened near the Thames at Woolwich to teach practical and commercial skills to London workers. An innovator from the start, the polytechnic pioneered the country's first part-time day-release and sandwich courses. Over the years a range of specialist organisations have joined the institution, giving it diverse strengths in subjects such as teacher training, architecture, engineering and history. The name Thames Polytechnic was adopted in 1970. They became the University Of Greenwich when they were awarded university status in 1992.

This programme has been designed to introduce students to critical engagement with media which involves studying the relationship between theory and practice. An appreciation of, and ability to deal with, complex intellectual frameworks of analysis, whether they be related to texts, institutions or broader political economies, is seen as central to informing media practice.

Once established, this relationship will serve to enhance the student's ability to participate in the programme's key strands: critical theory, visual culture and new media technologies.

Explore the ethical responsibilities of and guidelines for media practitioners. We will also examine some of the fundamental laws governing the profession while maintaining right to freedom of speech and access to information.

This course is designed to outline the current public management environment and to create an awareness and sensitivity to the classic management function of planning in government and non-government contexts. Learners will view public relations within a theoretical framework, with emphasis placed on planning for growth management, evaluation, and strategic planning in public decision-making.
