Today, SBCS Global Learning Institute joins the worldwide celebration of International Women’s Day (IWD), to commemorate the important contributions made by women in all spheres of life.
Also known as the United Nations (UN) Day for Women’s Rights and International Peace, each year IWD is celebrated on March 8; the first one being held in 1911. Thousands of events are held the world over to recognise the progress made in women’s rights and gender equality and celebrate the economic, political and social achievements of women.
This year’s theme, #PressForProgress, highlights the call-to-action to press forward and progress gender parity. Learn more about this, and the impact and importance of IWD at www.internationalwomensday.com.
