21st CENTURY TEACHING & LEARNING:
INNOVATION IN EDUCATION
A number of assumptions are made about education. During class times, mobile devices should be switched off. Learning can only take place in the traditional classroom. Social Media is a distraction to effective learning. This model was effective for a period of time, as many of us were taught with this model. However, is it still effective for the learner of tomorrow, or even the learner of today? As technology and understanding of new pedagogies and active approaches to teaching and learning advance, so too has the access to and form of academic and training programmes offered through learning institutes. As educators, we are charged with the responsibility to effectively and adequately engage students whose desire for and style of learning continue to change with the advancement of the world about them.
This strand calls for expressions of what trends in technology and pedagogy have been or can be incorporated effectively into the teaching and learning practice to keep it relevant to the requirements of our learners. You can draw on your personal successes as well.

An institution’s support and management of their faculty impacts the quality of their service delivery in (and out of) the classroom; whether that classroom be brick-and-mortar or virtual. This strand seeks to elicit thoughts on:|
