Dr. Maggie Cooper, International Programme Director -Department of Computing, from The University of London (UoL) Goldsmiths College visited our Champs Fleurs campus from Thursday, March 22 to Saturday, March 24, 2012.
She conducted UoL’s review of SBCS’ Diploma Teaching Status for Computing and Information Systems programmes, which was previously done by Dr. David Brownrigg.
Over the three day period, Dr. Cooper met with the Executive Director, Dr. Robin Maraj and SBCS’ UoL Administrative staff, faculty and students. In addition, she conducted classroom observations, toured the Champs Fleurs campus and met students from each year of the programme.
Commenting on her experience, Dr. Cooper indicated that she was very pleased by the feedback given by the students. She was also impressed with the teaching styles applied by our lecturers, particularly the manner in which they were able to captivate the students’ attention and encourage student participation.
Dr. Cooper also participated in SBCS’ San Fernando’s Career/Open Day on Sunday, March 25, 2012, where she met both potential and current UoL students.
