I am delighted to have the opportunity to communicate to you, our valued stakeholders, today on our 34th anniversary.
Over the past three decades and four years, we have influenced and shaped the lives of many thousands of students, and nothing still equates to the joy that we feel on learning about the successes of our graduates. It has been and continues to be a true honour and privilege to serve the national and regional community.
The pandemic has ushered in a new chapter in the SBCS GLI story. The vast majority of our courses are now being taught either via highly interactive live online classes or blended learning. Up to this point in time, the feedback from our students, lecturers and course administrators has been extremely positive.
We are still shaping and influencing lives, however, technology is now playing a much more important role in delivering our services to our students.
The educational landscape is being radically altered if not upended, and no one can say with any degree of certainty what form the new environment will take in the future. Over the past few years, there have been a few notable turning points in our story, from Pre-GATE to the GATE era to No GATE & Pre-Pandemic era to No GATE & Pandemic era.
The post-pandemic era approaches, and it goes without saying that educational institutions will have to adapt and transform to suit the needs of this new world that is taking shape before us.
In 1987, we were known as School of Business and Computer Science, however, today we are known as SBCS Global Learning Institute. This change in our title has not affected the underlying philosophy of our existence, however, it has brought our title in line with our expansion into the many areas outside of the spheres of Business and Computer Science.
Today, SBCS GLI is known for its variety of courses in a wide array of areas such as Engineering, Graphic Design, Mass Communication, Health and Safety, Public Health, Media, Electrical Installation, Plumbing, AC and Refrigeration, Auto-mechanics, Hybrid and Electric Vehicles (HEV), Paediatric First Aid, Agriculture, Nutrition and Wellness, Early Childhood Education, Psychology and more.
In addition, leveraging our expertise in Hybrid and Electric Vehicle technology, we have established at our Champs Fleurs campus, a fully equipped HEV service facility.
A great many changes have taken place since 1987, and while the next chapter of the SBCS GLI story is still to be written, we can promise you, our valued customers, that we are as committed as we were 34 years ago at the beginning of our story, to delivering an excellent service, be it in the form of great teaching and learning to our students or the services offered to our clients through our HEV facility.
Stay safe and keep well.
