They came. They sang. They danced.

SBCS’ Centre for Media Studies hosted its 2015 Karaoke Competition at Aria Lounge on Saturday December 12, 2015.

Radio personality Norman “Chucks” Chuckaree brought the hype as he welcomed the nine contestants to the stage, to wow the crowd with their voices and dance moves. Judges Ingle Watson, Avalene Harris and special celebrity judge Golda Lee-Bruce, the host of CNC3’s News and a lecturer on the HND programme, had their work cut out for them as the nine students belted out their song selections.

One lecturer even entertained the guests with her rousing rendition of Justin Beiber’s “Sorry”.

In the end, current student, Mark Dingwell took the first prize with his performance of Madonna’s version of “Santa Baby.” In second place was Kazia Aurelian of St. Lucia who performed Megan Trainor’s “All About That Bass”. Ms. Aurelian will commence the HND in Creative Media Production in January 2016. Rounding off the top three was Israel Ramjohn who, like Mark, is in his final year of study.
Congrats to all the winners!
