On Friday, March 08, 2013, the Centre for Certified Professional Programmes (CCPP) held its Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) Programme Committee Meeting, for the period July, 2012 – February, 2013. The meeting was hosted at our Champs Fleurs campus, with representatives at our San Fernando campus joining via video conference.
In attendance were lecturers, Course Administrators, staff from Central Academic Administration and Quality Assurance, and student representatives of both campuses.
At the meeting, a comprehensive report on students’ performance at the November 2012 examinations was presented, and later analysed and compared to the students’ performance at each level, for the 2011 sittings. This was done to highlight the progress made with the programme based on the implementation of initiatives proposed at the previous CIPS Programme Committee meeting held in June 2012.
As the meeting progressed, general issues were considered and appropriate solutions suggested and documented. Among the topics raised, lecturers discussed the syllabi and structure of the new CIPS programme launched by the Body at the beginning of March 2013. Along with this, updated tutor and tuition resources along with course manuals were presented to the lecturers for their respective units, to peruse and prepare for the upcoming semester.
Feedback was also received from the student representatives. They commended SBCS on the quality of the lecturers, interactive classes, and the level of service offered by course administration.
We thank our lecturers and students for attending the meeting and providing invaluable input, which will be used towards the continued improvement of the delivery of the programme.
