The 2015 cohort of the BA (Hons) in Graphic Design (University of Sunderland) exhibited their final projects at SBCS Trincity Campus from March 25 to April 8, 2017. Members of the public were invited to the display of a diverse range of visual outcomes by SBCS Graphic Design students.
Dr. Manny Ling, senior lecturer in Design at the University of Sunderland, praised both the creativity and quality of work produced by local students and the supporting role played by SBCS staff and faculty. “The students have produced a range of design projects and the standard of work are on par with that of the UK and in some cases exceeds this” Dr. Ling noted.
Over a 5-month period, these final projects were produced for the EXD00 Final Major Project module, as self-initiated studies which lead to a series of practical outcomes which put students’ creative, technical and organizational skills to the test.
The work exhibited by students covered a range of socially relevant topics from environmental awareness to youth illiteracy to domestic violence. “I am really looking forward to coming back next year to see the new cohort’s design work”, Dr. Ling remarked, “this is in some ways a reflection of the excellent teaching and support provided by the lecturers and administration staff at SBCS, Trincity”.
