Today our twin island state celebrates its 54^th anniversary.  I would like to take this opportunity to wish each and every one in our nation a Happy Independence day.

The current environment is most challenging, and I expect that we will all be required to make sacrifices of one form or another over the next few years, for the good of our nation.

However,  please keep the faith,  and remember that T&T with all its issues is still a remarkable place to live, and in the immortal words of JFK:

“Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country.”
