SBCS City & Guilds (Electrical Installation, Plumbing, and Refrigeration and Air Conditioning) students undertake practical construction exercises
The cultivation of students’ professional ability is very important in helping them meet the challenges that await them in the professional world of work. At SBCS, we understand that practical training can play an important role in readying our students for the workplace.
Modules such as Basic Construction Skills (Principles & Practice) takes students from a variety of course disciplines and immerses them into a simulated job site environment for a proposed project. The experience of the subject is proven to be rewarding in providing a tangible product to which students can apply their construction skills. Here, students are given an opportunity to assess and clarify prior knowledge as well as build strong conceptual frameworks through active learning activities, such as these.
