Remembering Mr. Ronald Pollard

Published: 6:46 PM on November 20, 2020

Farewell to our colleague and friend.

The SBCS GLI family mourns the passing of one of our beloved lecturers, Mr Ronald Pollard.

He was one of the pioneering part-time lecturers in the early days of SBCS GLI and was a fixture at SBCS for over two decades.

A natural mentor both in and out of the classroom, Mr Pollard showed concern for everyone around him and through his example helped to make SBCS a nurturing place to learn and work.

Reflecting on Mr Pollard’s impact and influence, Executive Director, Dr Robin R Maraj commented, “I have very fond memories of Ron discussing various topics on a Saturday morning in the Lecturers’ Room in Champs Fleurs and at Christmas functions. No matter the discussion, he brought laughter and lightness.”

His example will continue to inspire us all to recommit ourselves to ensuring that, no matter how the technology changes, online or face-to-face, SBCS will always nurture and develop the human potential, in each other, our students and our society.

We join his family and loved ones in mourning his passing.

May his soul rest in peace.
