Conference held at HYATT on July 8th – 11th, 2009

SBCS Ltd. Champs Fleurs – 14th July, 2009 –  Our Quality Assurance Associate, Ms. Jenelle Pariag attended the above event.  During the event, there was a panel discussion on students’ perspective on quality education.

The panel consisted of five (5) students, two (2) of whom represented UWI, the others represented COSTAATT, UTT and SBCS. Each student highlighted their experience with the respective institution as it related to the challenges faced and positives gained in the quality of education received.

Mr. Rennie Singh, an accounting student (ACCA) from SBCS mentioned that even though there were some challenges regarding stipulations set by the Ministry of Science Technology and Tertiary Education (MSTTE) that affected the flexibility and applicability of students requesting GATE funding, there were positives to be highlighted. These were: the excellent support staff at SBCS, the provisions for both part-time and full-time students and the blended learning approach where students have the option of either distance learning or formal classes.
