SBCS POS Centre for Media Studies hosts its First Karaoke Competition

Published: 12:00 AM on November 28, 2011

On Saturday, November 19, 2011 the Centre for Media Studies at the POS campus held its first Karaoke Competition.

The event was a resounding success. Everyone present can attest to the excitement, fun and spirit of camaraderie which cascaded throughout the venue despite the inclement weather on the outside. It was indeed a memorable occasion.

Close to 70 attendees witnessed eight thrilling performances in the first round. The excitement crescendoed in the second round when Avalene Harris’ rendition of Sherwayne Winchester’s “Don’t Stop” copped the 1st prize, while Ryan Spicer’s performance of Rihanna’s “Man Down” captured 2nd place, which was followed by Rodney Granado’s interpretation of Madonna’s “Material Girl” which rounded off the top three performances of the evening.

We wish to sincerely thank each and every one for the support and positive feedback and we look forward to staging other events aimed at bringing students and faculty together.
