On Friday, March 14th, 2014, SBCS held its Programme Committee Meeting for the BA (Hons) Business Management Top-Up degree from the University of Sunderland. Among those present were representatives from the local administrative team, Programme lecturers, students (current and graduating), as well as a panel from the University of Sunderland that communicated via SKYPE. The University’s panel consisted of:-
• Mr. Chris Marshall: Associate Dean-International Development
• Ms. Lynn Crinson: Undergraduate Business and Management
• Ms. Yvonne Dixon-Trodd: Principal Lecturer-Quality Assurance and Enhancement
• Mr. John Davison : Module Leader ,Strategic Management of Accounting
The purpose of the meeting was to elicit feedback which would enhance programme delivery and to aid SBCS in its goal of developing lifelong learners. Lecturers in attendance shared their individual views with respect to the content of the programme, as well as to the results of the recently concluded January 2014 assessment. The University’s Panel was intrigued by the comments and gave constructive feedback as to initiatives to move forward.
The students were also encouraged to give their feedback on their experiences in the programme. This session was chaired by Mr. Chris Marshall and the outcome was very positive as the students expressed great satisfaction with the administration of the programme and gave high praise to the lecturers.
The meeting was a success and the feedback received, will be developed further by SBCS’ Corporate Education Centre (CEC), as it progresses towards realising its vision – : To be the Premier Advanced Management Education Centre in Trinidad and Tobago.
