University of Sunderland’s Bi-Annual Teaching Visit

Published: 12:00 AM on February 12, 2016

SBCS had the distinct pleasure of welcoming representatives from our esteemed partner, the University of Sunderland (UOS), for their bi-annual teaching visit. Senior Lecturer, Mr. Derek Harwood and Centre Manager, Ms. Anne Edwards formed the team that conducted the visit, from November 24th to 30th, 2015.

During their visit, the UOS representatives engaged SBCS staff and students to take stock of the health and quality of the collaborative partnership. They were actively involved in the annual Programme Committee Meeting (PCM), the Student and Staff Liaison Committee Meeting (SSLC) and their stipulated class observation exercises. The events proved quite developmental, as critical issues and suggestions for improvement were discussed with students and staff. An extensive range of topic areas from student induction processes to staff and student development sessions was addressed.

The heavily itinerated week also included the UOS team touring the San Fernando and Trincity campuses, to gather critical information from all of the students enrolled in the BABM programme on their experiences thus far.

The UOS Team’s teaching visit at SBCS was indeed a success as they embraced the hospitality from management, lecturers, administrative staff and the feedback from students.
