University of Sunderland (UoS) representatives, Mr. Chris Marshall Associate Dean – International Development and Professor Julie Mennell – Deputy Vice Chancellor ( Academic) visited SBCS on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, where they met with the Executive Director, Dr. Robin Maraj and SBCS’ UoS Administrative staff, faculty and students. In addition, they conducted classroom observations and were treated to official tours of our campuses at Champs Fleurs, San Fernando and most importantly, Trincity. This marked the first visit for Professor Mennell to our Trincity Campus, who was very impressed with the layout of the campus and the efficient use of space.
SBCS Trincity will be partnering with the University of Sunderland to offer the BA Final year top up degree programme in Graphic Design, and the team got a firsthand view of the Campus’ Mac lab, used exclusively by our Graphic Design students. The BA Graphic Design will soon be part of our growing portfolio of Graphic Design qualifications offered at this campus, which already includes the HND in Graphic Design from Edexcel. This will be the second collaboration for tuition provision between SBCS and UoS, joining the BA (Hons) Business Management, which we have been offering in collaboration with the University for the past fourteen (14) years.
At our Graduation Celebration, held at the Hyatt Regency on Saturday, April 21, 2012, both Mr. Marshall and Professor Mennell were on hand to meet and congratulate over 300 graduands who successfully completed and were awarded, the degree of BA (Hons) in Business Management.
