The SBCS Global Learning Institute community once again joins the national chorus of celebration as sprinter, Jereem Richards won the country’s second gold medal at the 21st Commonwealth Games at the Gold Coast, Australia.
Richards crossed the line at 20.12 seconds in the Men’s 200M final to win the gold in dramatic fashion, as England’s Zharnel Hughes, originally credited with 1st place, was disqualified for impeding Richards’ run.
The medal adds to the great showing by the Trinidad and Tobago contingent at the Games; Richards’ gold followed the gold won by Michelle-Lee Ahye in the Women’s 100m final on Monday.
Congratulations, Jereem, and well done, Team Trinidad and Tobago.
