Happy 64th Independence Day, 2026

Published: 3:54 PM on August 31, 2026

Independence Day is more than a celebration of nationhood, it is a reminder of the social contract we share as citizens of Trinidad & Tobago: to build a society founded on opportunity, mutual respect, responsibility and the protection of the rights and dignity of every person and every community.

Our National Anthem reminds us of the ideals upon which that society must rest: “Here every creed and race find an equal place.” Independence therefore challenges each generation not simply to inherit a nation, but to strengthen and advance it, building a more prosperous, just, civil and inclusive society for those who follow.

This is a responsibility that SBCS GLI takes very seriously. Over nearly four decades, we believe the thousands of lives we have touched through education, training and opportunity have contributed, in our own way, to strengthening our nation and its people.

As we approach our 40th anniversary, we look to the future with courage, optimism and renewed purpose, committed to continuing our contribution to the development of Trinidad & Tobago and its people.

As we celebrate 64 years of Independence, may we remain united by a common purpose and inspired by the belief that “Together we aspire, together we achieve.”

Happy Independence Day, Trinidad & Tobago!
