Course Brief
Unit Abstract:
This unit introduces learners to the types of manually operated machine tools commonly used in industry and typical applications of such equipment. It introduces the theory of cutting tools, the practice of tool and work setting for production on manual machine tools and the checking of critical features and dimensions against specifications. Safe use of equipment will be a continuing theme throughout the unit.

- BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Automotive Engineering
The Pearson BTEC Higher National Diploma (HND) in Automotive Engineering programme will develop students into highly trained, competent professionals, who are able to meet the demands of employers in the automotive maintenance sector. This qualification also serves as the next step for students completing the SBCS Matriculation to HND (Engineering) programme and are interested in pursuing an undergraduate degree programme.

Classes begin September, 2018
- Early Registration Special: Register before 31 January and get 20% off the registration fee for the first semester.
- Alumni Special: Alumni and immediate family get 30% off registration fees for the first year of study i.e. three (3) semesters.
- Group Plans: Get 25% off the registration fee for the first semester for two 2 persons. Rate increases by 5% for each additional person.
