This module is designed to provide you with an opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the complexity, purpose and business activities of the Human Resource Management function in contemporary organizations within a global setting. This module will focus on understanding the purpose of the HRM function, identifying key differences between domestic and international HRM whilst acknowledging the influencing role of National Culture, the Organizational context and the institutional factors which impact IHRM.

Knowledge
K1 Understanding of the complexity of and the evolving nature, purpose and business activities of the Human Resource Management function in Multi-National Environments operating in global settings.
K2 Ability to select, compare and contrast appropriate models and approaches for delivering and managing the Human Resource Management function within a global context.
K3 Understanding of the range of factors that need consideration when designing and/or delivering Human Resource Management strategies/solutions within a global context in particular looking at Multi-National Enterprises.
Skills
S1 Design, creation and evaluation of Human Resource Management intervention(s) appropriate for an Organizational Expatriate [OE] which are timely, feasible, cost effective and appropriate.
