Course Brief
Aim This unit enables learners to develop an understanding of contract management principles, and their application within building services engineering, together with the skills needed to produce tenders and estimates. Unit abstract This unit is designed to develop learner skills in applying the techniques and procedures of building services engineering project management. Learners will understand how to establish clear project objectives and explore the management skills and processes required to achieve those objectives. Learners will study the implications of the different methods of procurement and produce tenders and estimates for building services installations. Learners will consider the implications of management structures, and the role and significance of effective teamwork and communication. Learners will also explore the standard forms of contract used within the sector,
and develop skills in applying project management techniques to forecast and plan resources.
