Course Brief

OUTCOME: On completion of this unit, candidates will be able to understand legal issues surrounding contracts and relationships developed in their supply chains. Candidates will gain an understanding of the legal aspects of contracts, competition and employment law that impact on procurement and supply.

Upon successful completion of this unit the learner will be able to:

  • Understand the main legal issues that relate to the formation of relationships in supply
    chains
  • Be able to interpret and apply implied and express contractual terms that impact on
    procurement and supply
  • Understand the main regulations that impact on procurement and supply
  • Understand the legal implications of contractual non-performance in procurement and
    supply

This unit is examination based and comprises of four exam questions each worth 25 marks, each testing a different learning outcome.

    The Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply is targeted at building strategic procurement competence, giving managers the ability to formulate strategic direction and advice, in terms of change management, stakeholder management and team leadership.  

    This level focuses on giving the learner the strategic acumen to align functional, organisational and supply chain strategies, and to devise and implement change management. The course develops the learner's skills in areas including leadership of stakeholders, the procurement function, teams and relationship management, and project and financial management.

    Upon successful completion of the CIPS Professional Diploma in Procurement and Supply, one can progress onto our MBA Master of Business Administration, then on to the DBA Doctor of Business Administration.
