Course Brief
This course will explore Procurement Management and its relationship with the PMBOK® Guide, the knowledge areas and process group. Participants will appreciate contract and procurement management and its fit into the project life cycle. They will understand the various types of contracts, and the components of a contract, learn of the different methods and processes for resolving disputes and requirements of adequately closing a project.
On completion of this course,participants will learn:
- The PMBOK® Guide, PMI and Procurement Management and the Project Life Cycle
- Procurement Documents, Types of Contracts, Sequential Contracts, Design Build Contracts, Standard Forms of Contract and Evaluation Criteria
- Bidding process, Responding to Bidders, Bid Openings, Evaluation, Constituents, type and functions of a Contract
- Contract Administration, Change Control, Performance Review, Document Control, Contract Interpretation
- Key Contract Clauses, Bonds and Dispute Resolution
- Contract Closure, the implication of termination for convenience or breach, acceptance of work, punch list and payments
