Course Brief
Content is shaped by challenges currently faced by managers and leaders of organisations operating in dynamic and changing contexts. Indicative content includes:
•Defining and understanding change and its importance in contemporary organisations
•Diagnosing the need for and drivers and triggers of change
•Creating readiness for organisational change
•Identifying and choosing appropriate approaches to and models for change
•The role of technology and innovation to support successful change
•Managing resistance and commitment to change
•Ethical, responsible and sustainable change
•Creating recommendations and supporting action plans for implementing change
•Becoming a change leader

By the end of this module successful students will be able to do the following:
1. Conduct an organisational change readiness analysis and use this to inform a set of recommendations and supporting change action plan
2. Critically appraise and choose appropriate approaches and models related to organisational change
3. Identify and critically discuss how leaders ensure change initiatives support ethical, sustainable and responsible business practice
The assessment will be one individual assignment. All learning outcomes will be assessed.

Overview of the Business Management pathways
Including BA (Hons) Business Management (Top-Up)The content of the course mirrors the Sunderland-based equivalent course Business and Management. This course builds on your existing knowledge and prepares you for managerial roles and professional roles in sales, finance, general business and the public sector. You will undertake four broad-based modules related to business consultancy projects, strategic leadership and collaboration, managing business continuity and resilience as well as leading and implementing organisational change.
This programme is based at study centres, which makes it distinct from our programme with the same title that is based at the University of Sunderland. Courses delivered at study centres share the same ethos, material and approach as those delivered at Sunderland itself.
This course is an outstanding way to gain the benefits of an education from our University without having to move to Sunderland.
